4 Ways to Wear Your Holiday Sweater This Season

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Today, I wanted to post a quick little ‘Outfit of the Day’ inspired post but better, because it’s all about the holidays! Yes, that’s right. In case you needed a reminder, it’s literally less than a week until Christmas.. So, if you haven’t already gotten all of wear out of your ugly (or cute) holiday sweater, or maybe you’re just in a festive funk and need some inspiration, I’m here to show you a few different ways to style and show off all of that spirit that is just DYING to get out! (:

Up first is the ‘Business Casual’ look

Not only is this actually comfy AND practical, but it’s super cute as well! You pretty much have it all with this one. The flats are simple but will make your life so easy for the day while the high waisted pants keep everything looking sleek. And of course, you still get to have some more fun with whatever type of sweater you choose to rock! And yes, believe it or not, this sweater is from Boscov’s from like 3 or 4 years ago. And it’s STILL one of my favorites (:

Also for those of you that are curious, my pants are from American Apparel (unfortunately, I don’t think they make them any more) and my flats are Jeffrey Campbell!

Next up is the ‘Christmas Party’ look

Again, this is so simple, but super chic. I love the combination of the high-waisted skirt, sweater, and heels. I feel like it’s sophisticated, feminine, and festive (but not like in your face festive). Plus, in this one, it’s really all about the details. The skirt’s mesh cut-outs add a little something extra, and the gold detailing in the heels really pull it all together. And although I’m not always the biggest fan of jewelry, I feel like it would be so cute to pull it together even more with a pair of earrings and a simple chain necklace! (:

For this outfit, my sweater is from Wildfox Couture (my mom got it for me as a Valentine’s Day present a few years ago because I’ve been dying to get my hands on this ever since I saw it), the skirt is from Express, and the shoes are from J.C. Penney (Cosmopolitan brand I believe).

Third up on the list is what I like to call the ‘New Year’s Eve Recovery’ look (:

If any of y’all are going to be having a long night on New Year’s, this is perfect for the day after. And, although I call this a ‘Recovery’ look, it’s totally for anyone who just loves to be comfy. It’s also for my athleisure lovers out there as well (:

It’s super simple, but again, cute (are we sensing a theme here with these outfits?). I just paired my Adidas joggers (literally my go-to staple in my closet), with a pair of sneakers (Adidas, in my case), with a black turtleneck underneath a pullover sweatshirt.

Obviously, you don’t NEED the turtleneck, but I think it looks cute and extra cozy underneath the sweatshirt.

And yes, my friends, you read the saying right. Happy Kanyear 2018! I’m not sure if they will still have this but, I purchased it a few years ago from Rad.

And last, but certainly not least, is outfit number four.. the ‘Last Minute Holiday Shopping’ look (:

I love that this look is 98% black (my favorite color to wear), but still keeps with the holiday spirit! You might be wearing black to mourn your bank account, or you might be wearing black to mourn your sanity while trying to tie up all of the odds and ends before the big day, who knows, but you look cool while doing it! And sometimes that’s all that really matters, right? (:

My fuzzy black sweater is from Target (seriously, it was so freaking cheap and is one of my favorite things), the jeans are BDG from Urban Outfitters (ADORE the little zip details at the ankle), my boots are Doc Martens (invest in these if you haven’t, they’re a staple and the most comfy, like, ever), and my beanie is from Aerie (the pom pom at the top is interchangeable!).

And that about sums it up for my mini holiday sweater inspired lookbook. Although I categorized each outfit into what I thought it could function best as, they are outfits that could seriously be worn for any occasion. I hope you all enjoyed and managed to get either some inspiration for yourself or a small break during this amazing (but sometimes hectic) time of the year!

What was your favorite look? Would you add or do something differently? Or are you all holiday-sweatered out by now? Let me know what you think! And..

Until next time,

xx.Britani Skye
