Happy Wednesday Everyone!
I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I can never believe the next few days when all of the preparation and anticipation is just, done, like why can’t Christmas come every month, right??
But now, down to business. I wanted to show you all a quick little ‘Outfit of the Night’ to inspire any of you that might still need an outfit for New Year’s Eve. And, if you’re interested, stay tuned until the end to see my 3 (actually attainable) New Year’s Resolutions!
Normally, I just have a pretty casual night in on New Year’s with a few friends, but this year, I’ll be totally honest.. I’m just chilling with Sethy and stuffing my face with lots of food.
But for those of you going out and ringing in the New Year with a big ol’ celebration, this outfit is the idea for you!
It’s edgy, festive, AND super cute. What more can you really ask for? Oh, actually it’s even a romper so you don’t have to worry about flashing anyone at any time in the night! (: Seriously, it doesn’t get much better.
I picked this blue velvet romper up from Urban Outfitters a few weeks ago when they were running one of their sales. Not only that, but the romper itself was already discounted and that’s what I like to refer to as a super sale, yes please!
Normally I would gravitate towards red velvet so I love that this is something new for me, and I feel the color makes it wearable for more than just Christmas. I also love that it has little details that make it really tie together, like the deep V, the ruched sleeves with little ties, and the faux-wrap. It all just comes together so sleekly.
I paired the romper with black tights and black boots, they could even be platforms if you’re looking for a little extra something on your night out!
You could also go for a nude lip (or even red), but I went with a blue/grey matte lippie which I also think really helped to make the entire outfit come together.
Of course because it’s also New Year’s Eve, and it’s all about the glitter, I think this outfit would look great with either gold or silver accents as well! There are just so many possibilities, and it really gives you a lot of room to make it your own! (:
And now onto the fun stuff.. The New Year’s Resolutions!
I normally am not a fan of these, but hey, why not turn a new leaf and go for some small changes that I can make to make 2018 one of the best years yet?!
1. Wear more lipstick.
Yes, I love makeup, but my heart lies with lipstick, and although I continue to add to my collection, I don’t actually get to wear it that much. And so this year, my goal is to try to incorporate more of my colors into my daily routine!
2. Give up pizza for Lent.
I give something up every year for Lent, but this year I’m going to challenge myself to give up the one food that always manages to make me feel better. I’ll update you all when the time comes (:
3. Spend. Less. Money.
It is not an unknown fact that I love to spend. And I think I’ve finally hit the point where I’m realizing that if I don’t make changes sooner, rather than later, that I’m going to be an unhappy camper. And so here’s to probably the hardest resolution of my life, let’s make it a good one, and NYC apartment? This is for you (:
But anyways, I hope you all were able to get some inspiration from this short little OOTD/OOTN! If anything, you’ll get a cute outfit that is wearable all throughout Winter, and that’s good enough for me (:
What will you all be doing on NYE? Will you be dazzling up your outfit with lots of glitter or are you going to keep it more casual? Let me know your thoughts! And..
Until next time,
xx.Britani Skye
