My Spring 2018 Semester Goals

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

As I type I am in full swing back at school. For those of you that are lucky enough to have another week off, enjoy it, and maybe take some of that time to reflect on the past semester. That’s what I did which has brought us here today. I thought to myself, ‘Britani, what are things you did/didn’t do last semester that drove you crazy and how can you make changes for a better one?’, and so I bring to you all a list of my latest (and greatest) 2018 spring semester goals. Not all of them are totally school related, but I think overall these little things that I plan to implement throughout the next few months will result in a happier and healthier me, and that’s what’s really important!

So let’s get into it (:

1. Get good grades

Okay, let’s start with the most obvious one first. But I’m going to just get it out of the way now, my GPA suffered something fierce by sophomore year, and I’ve been working ever since to slowly, but surely, bring it back up. And this semester will be no different.

2. Give myself plenty of time to work on assignments and study for exams

This kind of goes hand-in-hand with the first goal. I personally do not work well under pressure. I can definitely do it, but I know that the work I’m putting out is certainly not my best. That being said, I know that I need to set reminders and plan ahead on when I need to at the very least begin on upcoming assignments.

Giving myself that extra amount of time always pays off. I’m less stressed, proud of my work, and get the grades I want. You can’t go wrong.

3. Stay organized/Keep a clean room

This is something I’m actually pretty good at at the start of the semester, but as things start to slip, just like my room, my life very slowly becomes a mess. And not just a small mess, like the tornado/tsunami mess that you don’t even know where to start in.

So this semester I want to stay focused, and take just a few minutes out of my day to keep up with my planner and at the very least, pick up my clothes (:

4. Eat cleaner

This is kind of a whole bunch of mini goals that I’m going to mush into one.

Last semester, I wasted so many meal swipes and left overs. And this semester, I want to push myself to go to the market place more often and even more, choose healthier options (or at least not go back and get like 3rds of french fries).

With this I also do want to challenge myself to cook more and not eat out so much. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good dinner out on the town, but it’s actually really fun to cook meals yourself as well. And to bring it all back full circle, the food that I do cook, I don’t want to let go to waste nearly as much as it has in the past.

5. Stick to an exercise routine

This is also something that has increasingly slipped as my time in college continues. Before, I was relatively active. I had intense dance classes a few times a week and a job that I was always on my feet with. Now? I still dance, but it’s not nearly at the level that it once was. I might run a routine once and then sit around for the rest of the night. That’s hardly keeping me active.

This semester I want to go to the gym in the mornings at least two times a week (I’m striving for three, but let’s face it, I know I’m not perfect).

6. Keep up with my skincare routine

Okay, I preach skincare on this blog but I’m going to be totally honest, when I’m at college my routine can get a little scattered.

Sometimes my schedule is all over the place and it’s hard to motivate myself to take the time because in my head I’m thinking, ‘It’s fine you can just do it later.’, but then later never really comes and before you know it my face is speckled with acne and I’m living my worst nightmare.

So this semester I want to stay consistent!

7. Stop wearing leggings to class literally almost every day.

In high school I would have cringed at this so hard, so what happened? Having strict lab dress codes just made it easier to wear leggings and a t-shirt almost every day instead of having to worry about changing. And now that’s just what I’m comfortable with I guess.

Now, I’m still going to turn to my Adidas joggers on those especially tough days, but I have a closet full of great clothes and I want to actually put together outfits again. Look good, feel good, right?

8. Drink less caffeine.

I can’t promise that I’m going to really up the strictly water intake; however, I can promise myself that I can banish so much coffee and soda from my life. It isn’t good for you and a can of soda a day does crazy things to my skin, so I’ll be almost happy to see them go (sorry Coke)!

9. Stop staying ‘I don’t have time’

Because you do have time. Think about it. If you stopped complaining about all the time you ‘don’t’ have, you would probably free up at the very least a few minutes every time.

So stop making excuses and just go out and do it. It might suck sometimes but there’s a 99% chance that you won’t regret it or be a worse person because of it you’ll actually probably be better (:

10. Keep up with the blog!

I did okay at this last semester until the final month when I had to take some time off. But I really do have full intentions to continue posting at the very least once a week and I can’t wait to see what kind of content I can bring to you guys as the semester continues to pan out (so stay tuned please and thank you!)!

And there you have it. Here are some of my spring semester goals! I think that it’s ambitious but like I mentioned before, just little changes daily will make all the difference and before you know it, you’ll have accomplished them all in no time!

Of course I’m nervous for a new semester to roll out, but I can’t wait to reflect on it in a few months and realize all that I’ve been able to do, and the same goes for all of you!

Let me know some of your 2018 spring semester goals! Are you excited for a new semester? Anxious? Nervous? All three (Because I fall into that category)? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

I wish you all the best of luck and..

Until next time,

  1. #7 is so difficult to do! I tried doing that last semester and found that I actually felt more confident and more awake throughout the day when I actually took time to wear something nice and not just roll out of bed in sweatpants haha!

  2. I love these intentions. They’re actually all same as mine, although I haven’t written them down. I think this post will be awesome because you can look back and see how far you’ve come with each 🙂 x

  3. These are all great intentions for a great semester at school. I too can become consumed by an all out mess later on if I don’t plan or allow myself proper time to complete something. I like your part about putting outfits together. I feel like I have become lost in jeans and tshirts and I have some pretty cute clothes in my closet that sadly never see the light of day. Good luck this semester.

  4. I love your goals! I take classes online and honestly, I feel like I am so much more focused and motivated when I actually get dressed before sitting down to work as opposed to doing the lessons in my pjs / sweats – idk what it is! Setting goals ahead of time and actually writing them down is the best way to achieve them. Good luck with your semester!
