Isn’t this just the most wonderful time of the year?? It seriously makes my heart so happy to know we have three major holidays coming up over the next three months, but before I get too out of hand and jump right to Christmas, let’s dwell on Fall and Halloween first!
As a college student, I struggle with taking the time to really enjoy these holidays. Sometimes I’m so caught up in assignments, meetings, and extra curriculars that all of a sudden the holiday has come and gone and I didn’t even really get to get in the spirit.
That being said, something that really helps me with this is decorating! I think its fun, a way to destress, and have daily reminders that something exciting is on its way! But let’s also remember the key words from the previous paragraph: College student. Most college kids are living large on a budget so I wanted to put together a list of some little things you can get from Target that will help transform your dorm for a super affordable cost.
So without further ado, let’s get spooky (kind of, I’m more of a cute-sy Halloween girl) and get right into it!
…
1. Harvest Happy Fall Hanging Sign – $4.50
It’s simple, small, tasteful, and appropriate for the coming months. I love that with this sign you can also leave it out for Thanksgiving too, so you’re getting almost a 2-for-1 deal here.
I would hang this right on the front of our door just to help jazz up the standard wood that you’re used to seeing every day!
2. Boo Throw Pillow – $8.99
Who knew that throw pillows would one day bring so much joy into my life? I think they’re so cute and make your space just that much more cozy. They’re also so fun to switch out for different seasons and I think this is a perfect option for Halloween.
I’d get a few of these to throw on our couches and chairs in the living room, or if you’re in a standard dorm, these would look great as an extra touch on your bed!
3. Trick or Treat Halloween Fabric Candy Basket – $9
One of my favorite things about Halloween is the candy. I know that’s probably weird because you can literally get candy at any time of the year, but there’s something about HALLOWEEN candy that really makes me excited.
For the past few years I’ve always really liked getting a plastic pumpkin and filling it with some of my favorite treats for everyone to share, but I think this candy basket is so much more elevated and really isn’t going to break the bank either, phew!
I’d set this out on the kitchen table for everyone and it’s just a small way to still bring back those ‘Trick or Treat’ feels from childhood.
4. Halloween Pumpkin Arrows Tabletop Sign – $9
How cute is this? It reminds me of something my mom would have at home and maybe that’s why I’m so drawn to it? Nevertheless, it would be a really cute addition to either a desk or a side table! It doesn’t take up too much room but is just a little element that shows you’re in the holiday spirit.
5. Watch your Step Doormat – $9.99
Okay so I mentioned before how much I love throw pillows? I think I love doormats even more. You can ask my boyfriend, I’m always bringing them up and saying how he needs a new one for every single holiday.. he doesn’t seem to agree, but I can’t just give up because maybe he’ll change his mind one day, right?
Anyways, isn’t this kind of adorable? And not only that, but it’s MEGA affordable too! Having this right outside your door is just another cute touch to bring in that Halloween vibe you’re going for.
6. Small Harvest Happy Fall Pumpkin – $2.70
They have a crazy variety of these at Target. Ones that are white or orange, spotted or plain, with a cute metallic font or without, but this one seems to resonate with me.
Again, I like that you can keep this little guy around for longer than just October and that there’s something about its simplicity that makes it trendy. Who knew a small, white, plastic pumpkin could be such a thing?
I think the options for these guys are endless. I would personally probably keep them outside of the door next to the doormat; however, they can go on your desk or even as a kitchen table centerpiece.
One things for sure though, the price is unbeatable and you’ll probably be picking up a few (:
…
Are you guys as pumped for Halloween as I am? Where are some of your favorite places to shop for cute decor? Target is really a must-have for me! Let me know what you think of this post and maybe I can do more for other holidays throughout the year! And..
Until next time,
