Happy Monday All!
Although this is my fourth week back into my final semester as an undergrad, I wanted to take some time and share with you all a few of my goals for the next 4-5 months! I know I’ve mentioned it before, but it’s kind of a weird time right now. I’m busy and bogged down with the usual, excited for what’s to come, but also still dragging my feet when it comes to some big decisions. I feel like it’s important to take a moment and put into the universe what I plan to accomplish and maybe we can revisit this and see just how it all panned out. **Fingers crossed, it all went well**
So, for the benefit of all of you I’ll stop dragging my feet (in this instance) and get into this post!
…
Make more time for TV shows
I don’t know how to stop working. You’ll find this to be a theme in my life, especially when I’m back at college! Lucky for me, one of my favorite things to do is decompress with a TV marathon. This semester some of my favorite shows are back like The Bachelor, Rupaul’s Drag Race, Project Runway All Stars, and the Good Doctor. Not to mention the plethora of options Netflix is serving me.. like, hello Series of Unfortunate Events.
Because I barely take a hot second to just NOT be working on homework, I want to set aside a day of the week where I just get to focus on me (I love alone time) and binge. It’s not productive but it always makes me feel good!
Drink more water
I think this is a goal of mine literally every semester. I’m terrible at drinking water and I want to strive to get better at it. When back at college my skin really flares up. I get the worst acne on my chin and sometimes even cheeks which is sooooo annoying. I’m also a firm believer that you are what you eat (probably also why I have so much acne because a girl just can’t stop with the cookies). So one of the ways I combat this is with water. It keeps me hydrated and stops cravings and just is good for my body.
Get my lazy butt to the gym.. NO excuses
Over the past year I have really gotten into the routine of going to the gym. That being said, I’m not perfect and there are weeks where I’m SUPER easy on myself and even weeks I don’t go at all. This semester I have time almost every single day to get my butt to the gym and I’ve been inspired to make this my most consistent semester yet. I mean I’m not going to have access to a ‘free’ gym forever, right?
Stop bending over backwards for meetings and people that don’t really matter
I’m a yes girl. I wish I wasn’t but I totally am. Last semester I had a professor who was always begging to meet at least once a week but there was always some kind of conflict and times were never the same. I’m also a busy girl, so you can imagine this really didn’t work well for me. I was always running from one thing to the next and quite honestly, it stressed me out and always was making me miserable.
This semester, I’m challenging myself to stand my ground and just be honest with people about these things. It isn’t feasible for a person to feel like that constantly and I 100% won’t be doing it again.
Stay on top of school work by finding a schedule and sticking to it!
Last semester I was able to figure out a pretty consistent schedule to stay on top of homework. Don’t get me wrong, the first few weeks were actual torture until I figured it out but once I did, I felt 10X more calm and on top of my shiz.
I want to be able to do that again this semester. So far, I’ll be honest, I’m failing at this but I’m not about to give up just yet. It’s the worst feeling in the world to always be scrambling around *see above goal* and knowing this should help me put this into action.
Finish the final semester strong–good grades, good relationships, good vibes
I’ve been beyond fortunate the past few semesters. I mean, not to toot my own horn because that’s really lame but I’ve been crushing it in the grades department. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m really not one who cares about a number.. it literally means nothing to me. But I also can’t deny that it’s kind of a fun game to see if you can do the same if not better than the last semester (within reason of course).
I know I have a rough semester ahead of me. I mean, seriously, I’m enrolled in like 9 classes, but I really would love to finish out this last semester strong.
Save, save, save!!
I started saving my money approximately 6 months ago and I’m not going to lie I’m low-key a little embarrassed to even be admitting that. I’ve had a job ever since I was 16 but if you were looking at my bank account, you wouldn’t know it.
I got into a really bad habit my freshman year and to make a long story short, retail therapy was really real for me during my time at college. It wasn’t until I started to actually think about my future that I realized I really needed to start making some major adjustments. Unfortunately this semester I will be working less than normal, but I’m excited to see how I can continue to save over the next few months and hit new goals.
Find companies that I love and believe in and APPLY
This is a HUGE one for me. I’m a senior and the struggle is SO real when I think of applying for jobs. I’m that girl who is being pulled in a million different directions and just can’t make up her mind. Now of course this isn’t fair to the people that are close to me, because they want to know these things too so not only for myself but for them will I be putting tons of time into finding companies I believe in and finally applying to. I mean you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take, right?
Create more content!
A huge goal for me is to make my blog a priority! Every semester I know I start out strong and quickly my posts become less frequent until they eventually fizzle out into nothing-ness. I really don’t want that to be the case this semester since this is basically my creative outlet.
I’m not promising weekly posts, but I want to make sure I’m not going MIA for like weeks and weeks on end. I want to show you guys tons of OOTDs on insta and even experiment a little more with makeup (shout out to Jeffree and James for their bomb palettes).
DANCE.
For those of you who know me, you’ll know that this is basically what I’ve dedicated my life to. It’s pretty much the only thing I’m even relatively good at and can say with certainty that I LOVE. I’m not ignorant to the fact that this is my last semester where I can really leave it all out on the dance floor and without a doubt I know I’ll be putting this before my busy schedule. I don’t want to look back in a year and think to myself, man, I wish I would have tried out for another dance or anything along those lines so I’m making this a priority. I can’t wait to share some of these dances with all y’all by the end of it (:
…
It’s kind of funny because I thought this post would be short and sweet, but being as it IS my last semester, it makes sense that I almost have a bucket list of sorts. What are some of your goals for the coming semester? Can you relate to any of these or are they way out in left field? Let me know in the comments below (:
And..
Until next time,
