Happy Thursday Y’all!
While I sit and wait for my 5:30 class, thoughts of graduation quickly approaching begin to take over. So instead of dealing with the real life decisions that are coming up, I thought I could use this time to turn towards fashion.
If you’re like me and have approximately 30 days until graduation, let’s talk what will be underneath the gown because obviously that’s really what matters, right? On the other hand–if you’re unlike me and are more concerned about life post-grad, you might not have had the time to think about the trivial details about your big day.
Well lucky for you, I’ve rounded up a few options for this special day and have taken most (if not all) of the work out of it for you (: Not only are these options perfect for graduation, but they transition seamlessly into summer beachwear so whether you’re saying so long to high school/college or not there is something here for everyone!
…
1. Zara Embroidered Poplin Dress
Zara is always my go to. They have something for everyone at such an affordable price. Not only is everything they make affordable, but also so chic too. So you won’t ever need to be worrying about how stylish you look, you’ll already know they have it taken care of for you.
I love this dress because it’s crisp, light weight, and peppered with tiny details from the deep-V neckline to the embroidered cutouts lining the bottom.
2. Lulus Play the Party Off-the-Shoulder Skater Dress
Okay I feel like the dress name is low-key a mouthful but nevertheless it’s stunning. I feel like this option is a little elevated than the last. It’s sophisticated, shows off the collar bones, and still keeps you cool underneath all of the gear you’ll be wearing over top.
Another plus is that this is another affordable option and can be dressed even more up with a variety of jewelry!
3. Nordstrom Whisper Light Sheath Minidress
I lovelovelove this dress for a multitude of reasons, the first being that just looking at it resonates with my personal taste. I love that it’s a flirty style contrasted with a high neck line. The fit on top will be snug and structured while there is still a smidge of flare happening on the bottom.
This dress is 10/10 sleek and chic and would look gorgeous with either a strappy high heel or even a wedge.
4. ASOS Stradivarius Shirt Dress
This one gives me somewhat similar vibes as the Zara dress. It’s a crisp white dress that despite its simplicity, is really special. I love that it’s a shirt dress so the incorporation of a collar and button down are really unique. It would again be really lightweight and perfect for all upcoming summer days. I think this is a really ‘smart’ look and would be totally on brand for a college graduation especially adorned with a blue-red lip.
5. H&M V-neck Dress
How cute is this?! The scalloped detail along the neck line are so simple, classic, and sweet and are really what I think makes this dress so lovely. I also like that it has no sleeves so you’ll feel pretty free. Again, I think this would pair really well with a white/tan wedge combo!
6. Madewell Button-Waist Wrap Midi Dress
I think this would be fun because you’re switching up a really predictable length with a midi dress. Even though it’s a more modest length, I love that it’s again contrasted with such a deep-V and ‘tank’ sleeves. The simple detailing of the buttons on the waistline are also so cute and really make this dress the most perfect for not only graduation but also the beach!
It can so easily be dressed up (with jewelry and wedges) or down (with a jean jacket) too!
7. Revolve Free People Lilah Pleated Tube Dress
Similar to the last dress this is a midi style adorned with buttons. What makes this one stand out to me is that it has a straight cut neckline and is entirely sleeveless. I’m not sure if this will even make sense but it gives me ‘Vacation is Greece’ vibes and this dress matched with a bohemian-inspired messy braid is literally everything. The look would be completed with ‘straw/boho’ inspired bag, earrings (that I’m sure you could actually snag super cheap at Target), and strappy sandals!
…
Do you guys know what you’re wearing for graduation this year? If not, I hope you were able to get some inspiration here. If you liked it, let me know! I can always take this a step further and look around for shoes, accessories, etc.
I hope you’re all finishing the semester strong.. we’re almost there! And..
Until next time,
