Happy Thursday Everyone!
So as June has promptly just wrapped up, I’m here to share with you a few of my monthly favorites! And because this literally includes practically anything and everything, let’s just jump right into it!
Skincare
Okay so this basically is getting a category of its own this time!
Basically, I have very temperamental skin that is DEFINITELY acne prone, so because I went through a period of time more recently that I wasn’t taking care of my skin like I should have, this month has been dedicated to getting back on track!
First up, is a (new-ish?) product from Sephora — Micellar Cleansing Water & Milk in Green Tea.
So I never really gave into the whole ‘micellar water’ trend but I passed this the last time I was in Sephora and basically did a double take. It’s only $7.50 so I snatched it off the shelf on a whim, and I’m so thankful I did!
As previously mentioned, the reason I wasn’t taking great care of my skin is because I fell right into the laziness that is summer, and without a set schedule every day, I would sometimes wash my face and sometimes not.. gross, I know, but this guy has changed the game for all of you lazy people that might be out there like me!
Whenever I’m in a rush, or just don’t want to take the extra, like, 2 minutes to properly cleanse my face, I just soak a cotton pad in this and in less than a minute I feel my face is totally clean and refreshed.
If you take a peek at the cotton pad after being used, you can definitely tell that all of the dirt and oil is being pulled from the skin, and the green tea is supposed to be good for things such as mattifying and anti-blemish.
Truly, when buying this product, I was pretty excited but I also had literally NO expectations at all, so I have been just so pleasantly surprised and pleased with this bad boy (:
It leaves the skin feeling soft, clean, and moisturized so if you’ve ever considered checking out micellar water, I would HIGHLY recommend this one! It’s affordable, it works, AND it even smells delicious! Can we all say ‘win, win’?
Next up on the skincare list is.. Belif Hungarian Water Essence!
So basically, I got this as a sample in my Sephora Play box in June and I actually really love it. Simplified, it’s a serum that you put on after toner and before moisturizer that is supposed to add extra hydration to the skin.
Honestly? It’s definitely not a necessity, especially if you all have a moisturizer that really works for you, but I must say that I truly feel it has made a difference in my skincare routine ever since beginning to use it.
I feel like it has increased the hydration of my skin (which is good, considering that’s what it claims to do), as well as helped to smooth out the texture of my skin.
But most importantly, it has definitely not made my skin any worse, agitated it, or cause it to break out any more than usual. So what’s there to lose?
And last, but not least, on the skincare train is the Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask by Milky Piggy!
I know that this mask has been around for quite a while, and it blew up sometime last year, but similar to the micellar water, I’m just now getting around to trying it and it’s a total hit for me!
I was always hesitant to try this one because I always thought there was charcoal in it and I once had a not so great reaction to a charcoal cleanser, but this one is a completely different story!
It’s so fun because you have to quickly smear a layer all over your face and within minutes, it’s like your face has lifted at least an inch from usual completely with bubbles!
At first, it definitely tickled but once it’s all washed off, your face with feel super clean! The best part about this mask is that it can double as a cleanser/makeup remover as well so it’s the perfect thing for people like me (which as I mentioned before) are a little lazy sometimes with skincare and are looking for a 2-in-1 miracle product, so check it out!
Beauty
So for this, since I haven’t really gotten into too many new products for this month, I only have two favorites, and the first one is Glossier Generation G in the color Jam!
This is probably an all-time favorite lip product. I have searched my entire life for the perfect berry lip, and this one is it! I’m totally obsessed and as this was my first ever purchase from Glossier, it’s a great first impression!
I wish there was more for me to say about this one, but it’s literally as simple as ‘the perfect berry lip’! It’s smooth, feels lightweight, and has a really natural (but still pigmented) color payoff! So take my word for it, and check this one out too! It’s wonderful (:
And the second ‘beauty’ favorite is St. Tropez Self Tan Express Bronzing Mousse!
So, let’s get one thing straight.. I’m a pale girl. And when summer rolls around, I don’t want to stroll up to the beach and blind everyone with my snow white legs.. and this is the perfect solution.
You can smooth a hefty amount all over your body, leave it on for 1, 2, or 3 hours (depending on how tan you want to be), and then you get to wash it all off and BAM, instant tan!
Now personally, the best part about this tanner is that you really can’t mess up. It’s the most natural looking that I’ve found and even when leaving it on for the maximum amount of time recommended, you will not end up orange or looking ‘fake’.
The only downside is that after a few hours, the smell can really start to get to you, but you get to wash it right off and then it will continue to develop for up to 8 hours after!
I used this twice before I went to Mexico and my boyfriend was jealous of the tan it gave me (even if it wasn’t real), so what does that tell you? It works, and it’s awesome, duh!

Fashion
Okay, so for anyone who knows me, they know that I cannot pass up the opportunity to rep Adidas and when I checked my email one morning and saw that there was a new release for Adidas Iniki I had to check it out.
Let’s just say that as soon as I saw the baby pink pair, I knew that I had to have them. They are a hybrid between original adidas and a boost sole and I really really love them. My only advice is to order a size down from your normal shoe because they definitely come a little big. For me, that isn’t a deal breaker because once they’re tied, they don’t slide around on your foot, but it’s just something to think about if purchasing online.
They are so cute and soooooo comfortable. What’s even better is that they’re just different enough from pairs that other people might have that will make you stick out. 10/10 would definitely recommend!
Miscellaneous
This month I have LOOOOOOOVED cactuses. More than literally anything else. It’s crazy.
I’m going to be living in an apartment next semester so I have been scoping out decorations and stuff and I stumbled upon succulent plates at Walmart one day and I’ve never gone back.
Also, let me repeat WALMART. Like $2 per plate and they are so so so cute. If you can find them, go swipe yourself some because they’re perfect for a college girl’s budget, and are something you won’t feel guilty if you ruin.
On top of the plates, I also found this adorable cactus decorative pillow from Target which is super cute and makes me so happy. Same for this one, if you can swipe it at all I would highly recommend. It could probably use some more fluff but it’s soft and fun and tasteful too so this is a win-win all around!
Entertainment???
Okay, so this is going to kind of be a miscellaneous category but I think mostly everything falls under the general category of *entertainment* wooo!
So first up is Big Brother!
I feel like I wait all year for this show to come back on and every summer, when the season kicks off, I fall more in love than ever!
In general, about 16 people are put into a house and they compete against one another to win half a million dollars. Now, I know that might not sound like the most exciting thing every but there’s lots of games, huge personalities, and alliances being made all season long so it’s really fun to just watch all of the twists the season has to offer!
This season, there is a take on temptations and I think it’s going to get interesting real quick so tune in with me and we can all watch together!
Catch up on episodes HERE!
Next up is a combo.. Despicable Me 3 and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon!
Okay, so you might be thinking, how the heck do those two even relate, but trust me, for me, they do (:
My mom and I were fortunate enough to score tickets to the show and it was such a one of a kind experience! The show that we saw included guests such as Alec Baldwin, Lily Collins, Sheryl Crow, and last (but certainly not least) Steve Carrell (see I told you there was a common thread to Despicable Me, which was such an adorable movie.. ugh Agnes is like my soul sister)!
We got to watch all of the interviews, have a performance, and see them play a game all in front of our eyes which was really fun. Plus I loved that during breaks Jimmy would come into the audience and give us the opportunity to talk to him and ask questions about practically anything. It just felt really personable and unique and it is definitely an experience I will not forget any time soon.
Plus having The Roots there before the show to pump us all up was really awesome too! Would HIGHLY recommend trying to get tickets if you’re ever available. They’re totally FREE so what is there to lose? NOTHING. (:
Oh. And they gave us 10% off in the gift shop after the show so I picked up this sweater (so soft and comfy, ugh) as well as the classic ‘The Tonight Show’ mugs. They’re my current favs!
Okay and now last, but still not least, is getting to go to this year’s The BookCon! If any of you out there are in love with YA (Young Adult) Fiction, or just books, authors, and nerds in general, this is an event for you!
It’s a convention (normally held in the Javit’s Center in NY) where book lovers all over get to come and hang out with their favorite authors, make new friends, listen to panels, and get handed free stuff. So how can this go wrong, right?!
This was my second year going so it was more of a controlled chaos this year but it was so fun and I got to meet and get autographs from some of my favorite authors including Jenny Han, Veronica Roth, and Victoria Aveyard.
I have so much more to say about this but maybe I’ll just do an entire blog post about it because I think I’ve already rambled enough..
I hope everyone had a great (and safe) Fourth of July and that you are all enjoying this short week!
But until next time..
